Lisa began working in film production on the set of NBC’s mini series, THE EXECUTIONER’S SONG, with Tommy Lee Jones in 1980.  Studying at UCLA, Lisa has gone on to write eleven screenplays, several of them award winning.  Her first, CLOUDS OF TRAGEDY, was a finalist in the Eugene O’Neil Playwrights competition in 1994.   THE JOURNEY, a feature film that Lisa co-wrote while working at the Sundance Lab in Utah was produced in 1997 starring Roshen Seth and won many national and international film festival awards, including The Audience Award at the Miami Film Festival.

 
Lisa produced and executive produced the feature length documentary, SACRED STAGE: THE MARIINSKY THEATER in 2006, which portrays the survival of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia and it’s Artistic Director, Maestro Valery Gergiev.  SACRED STAGE: THE MARIINSKY THEATER is distributed by First Run Features and EuroArts.  The film premiered at the Kennedy Center in DC and at Lincoln Center in NYC.  It has been seen all over the world.
 
In 2010, Lisa went on to direct and produce the feature documentary GOTTFRIED HELNWEIN AND THE DREAMING CHILD which takes place on stage and behind the scenes at the Israeli Opera House in Tel Aviv and tells the story of two artistic titans, Gottfried Helnwein and Hanoch Levin.  This film is distributed by First Run Features and EuroArts.
 
2016 Lisa co-executive produced DANCER, directed by Academy Award nominee Steven Cantor and produced by another Oscar nominee, Gabrielle Tana (PHILOMENA).  DANCER offers an immersive personal portrait of Sergei Polunin, the youngest principal dancer ever at the British Royal Ballet.  The film includes the exclusive clip TAKE ME TO CHURCH, choreographed by Jade Hale-Christofi and directed by David LaChapelle, which has reached over 15 million views on YouTube.  ”Urban rebel, iconoclast, airborne angel, Sergei is transforming the shape of ballet as we know it”…WestEnd.  DANCER is distributed domestically with IFC/Sundance Selects and internationally (over 45 countries) with WestEnd.  
 
Lisa has served on the Board of The United States Presidential Advisory Committee for the Arts/The Kennedy Center, YoungArts Board of Directors, the International Documentary Association,  the Metropolitan Opera Advisory Board NYC, the LA Opera Board of Directors, the Colburn Foundation, and the Board of Directors for the Colburn School in Los Angeles.
